The quite delightful Scarlett Johansson has named and set a release date for her debut solo album.
The Hollywood actress releases ‘Anywhere I Lay My Head’ through Atco Records in the US on May 20, with a UK release yet to be confirmed.
The album consists of ten Tom Waits covers and there’s also a track which has been written by Ms Johansson herself.
Johansson has collaborated with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, Celebration’s Sean Antanaitis and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner on the record. According to Pitchfork, Stars Like Fleas drummer Ryan Sawyer also guests.
The star recorded the album over a 33 day period at Dockside Studios last summer. According to the studios’ owner Steve Nails, Ms Johansson “sounds like Marilyn Monroe.”
