Radiohead are in talks with the BBC to perform tracks of their latest album ‘In Rainbows’ during a special concert, it’s been revealed.
Speaking to the BBC, the band’s guitarist, Colin Greenwood, said that plans for the event were in the very early stages.
“We only started talking about it (the BBC event) yesterday in the meeting, so we are getting some plans together to play a show and play some songs from the record for the BBC,” he said.
The announcement comes just a week after the band played an intimate show at London’s 93ft East.
The free gig, which was originally scheduled to take place at Rough Trade East, was moved to the bigger venue because of police concerns about crowd safety.
Greenwood said that the whole event was “a surprise all round” and that it “was one of those things where everything went right for the wrong reasons”.
“It was like playing a little club, standing next to each other, we played the Bends and seeing my brother Jonny slashing the chords through that song was just brilliant,” he added.
