Hot Chip, Blur’s Alex James and KT Tunstall are amongst the acts contributing lines for a very special children’s book in aid of the NSPCC.
A massive 52 celebrities, one for every week of 2008, will be contributing to the book which has been launched to promote the new directory enquiries number 118 520. Nine pence from every phone call made to 118 520 will go directly to the children’s charity.
KT Tunstall said of the book: “I'm delighted to be part of a creative project dedicated to helping children in distress. Every child deserves a story at bedtime, and this story may help those who never get one.”
The project has kicked off this month, with celebrities writing a few lines before passing it on until it ends on October.
The resulting book will be read at a story telling event later in the year, before going under the hammer at an auction.
