Busta Rhymes has escaped jail after pleading guilty to drink driving and assault.
Instead of the custodial sentence the rapper was given three years probation and community service at the Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (January 23).
The star – real name Trevor Smith – admitted four charges including assaulting his driver and attacking one of his fans who it was claimed spat on his car.
Last February he was caught driving with a suspended licence, before he was caught drink driving in May by police after admitting drinking some cognac.
When he was handed his sentence yesterday he thanked the judge and told the court that he believed it was a fair system.
He also has his driving licence revoked for at least six months.
