Former Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has accepted an invitation to run for president of the Guild of Motoring Writers.
Mason will be considered for the position when the Guild holds their annual meeting in April.
Motor racing is nothing new for the drummer, who has been involved in the sport since the 1970s and is a five-time entrant in the Le Mans car race.
As well as contributing to a number of publications, Mason is also the son of the late Bill Mason, a film maker and former member of the same Guild.
Meanwhile, former Pink Floyd star Roger Waters will perform at this years Coachella Festival in April.
Waters will re-create the bands infamous ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ album in its entirety on the festivals closing night.
