Certainly one of the more uplifting songs this year, Spilt Milk’s ‘Frank’ is a tropical meeting of indie escapism and faint wonder. The androgynous tones of vocalist Gareth Milkfudge echo those of Brian Molko but the monotonous regularity begins to become irritating before too long. Sounding more like the effort from across the pond of an American band trying to get a grasp of the British scene it’s surprising to discover that Spilt Milk hail from Bromley in London. The slightly messy sound drips with character though and with a compelling drum solo to finish, and a glockenspiel rhythm holding the backbone of the song it will indeed infect all who listen - whether you like it or not.

    Released 21/01/08 on Happy Release.
