January 21, 2008 by Daniel Melia

EMI have reportedly signed a deal to giveaway four covermount albums with national newspapers over the next few months.

The giveaway will include a completely new record by an ‘established group’ according to Music Week.

The deal is being overseen by Upfront Promotions which was behind the release of Prince’s ‘Planet Earth’ through the Mail On Sunday last year.

Yesterday EMI gave away a remastered edition of Jean Michel Jarre’s 1977 album Oxygene with the paper.

The other covermount albums will include six tracks from an upcoming album and six previously released songs, one from a “frontline EMI act” according to Upfront.
