The mighty Eels are set to fork out on a lucrative advertising slot during half-time of the Superbowl on February 3.
However, not quite being able to afford the tens of thousands of dollars it costs per second to advertise on the sought-after slot, band lynchpin Mark ‘E’ Everett is planning to make the shortest ever TV commercial.
Promoting the ‘Useless Trinkets’ rarities album, released in the UK on January 21, Eels only have enough money to make a one second advert.
A spokesman at Polydor Records told Gigwise: “E thinks that the Super Bowl is the perfect place to advertise the release of his Useless Trinkets album and intends to have the fastest break off the field.”
