Only a select number of Rough Trade employees will be able to watch Radiohead perform at their flagship store in London tonight (January 16th), it’s been revealed.
Like the band’s fans, staff will have to queue outside Rough Trade East if they want to see the band take to the stage at 8pm.
"Not all of our staff can come. I've got to send some home 'cos we're restricted to the amount of staff we can have in the store, because the more staff I have in the store means the less people can actually get in,” explained Spencer Hickman, the store’s manager.
Hickman told 6Music that only he and up to four other people have known about tonight’s gig, which was originally discussed last November.
“It’s been quite hard keeping it under wraps. I think we've done really well considering how many people need to be involved from the label, to the store, to the live set up, to the security,” he said.
Gigwise went down to speak to people in the queue today to see what they felt about the last minute gig, to read what they said, click here.
We also asked them what they though the band should do next and took some photos of die hard fans braving the cold.
