George Michael has signed a multi-million pound deal with the publisher Harper-Collins to write his autobiography.
The book, which is expected to hit the shelves in autumn 2009, will see Michael tell a “no-holds barred” story of his life.
"People aren't stupid, they're beginning to notice that the truth is more interesting than the stories the press come up with," said Andy Stephens, the pop-stars manager.
The singer recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his career in the music industry, a career which at times has been outshone by his private life.
Harper-Collins would not disclose the fee that Michael will receive for his memoirs but it is understood to be one of the biggest in British publishing history, reports AP.
Belinda Budge, managing director and publisher of Harper NonFiction UK, said the book would be “truly authentic”.
"This is an incredibly exciting publishing event,” she added.
