Arctic Monkeys have picked up three nominations for this years BRIT Awards, which were announced tonight (January 14th) in London.
The Sheffield band are in the running for British Group, British Album – for ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ - and British Live Act.
Editors and Kaiser Chiefs also appear in the British Group category, with the latter going head-to-head with Muse, Take That and Arctic Monkeys for British Live Act.
Kate Nash also landed nominations in the Best British Female – where she is joined KT Tunstell and PJ Harvey – British Single and British Breakthrough categories.
Klaxons and Bat For Lashes also received nods in the British Breakthrough category, with Bat For Lashes star Natasha Khan also nominated for British Female.
In what is a pop dominated list of nominees, Take That, Leona Lewis and Mika each scored four nominations.
Despite having the biggest selling album of 2007, Amy Winehouse received just one nomination for ‘Valerie’, her collaboration with producer Mark Ronson. Her album, ‘Back To Black’, which was released at the end of 206, did not qualify for this years awards.
In the international categories, Kanye West and Bjork are the notable appearances in the International Male and Female Solo Artist lists respectively.
Meanwhile, Arcade Fire, the Eagles, Kings Of Leon and the Foo Fighters are nominated in both the International Group and Album categories.
As previously reported, Adele has been handed the new Critics Choice award, while Sir Paul McCartney will be awarded with the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at the ceremony on February 20th at Earls Court.
