Taking the name he adorned upon his imaginary childhood comic strip hero, Devonte Hynes has taken the bold step of going solo since his former band Test Icicles called it a day. His latest single 'Tell Me What It's Worth', taken from his debut album 'Falling Off The Lavender Bridge', draws upon Hynes constantly wandering mind and eclectic nocturnal subject matter. With a diverse instrumental composition, thanks in part to the inclusion of a multitude of playing partners that feature on Hynes tracks, the resulting one hundred and sixty three seconds is a beautifully melancholic semi-acoustic number littered with personal references and hidden meanings that resonate with a country-rock edge.
