Courtney Love has chosen US actor Ryan Gosling to play Kurt Cobain in a forthcoming biography about her former husband.
Heavier Than Heaven, which is based on Charles Cross’ biography of the Nirvana frontman, could also see Scarlett Johansson play Love, according to reports.
Love, who is an executive producer on the film, is apparently keen to get Johansson to play her.
"Kirsten Dunst was rumoured to be in the frame, but Courtney really admires Scarlett and has already sent the contract out for her to sign," a source told the Mirror.
"She wants the best actors to portray them - she will be on set all the time giving Scarlett and Ryan advice on what it was like being one part of the most notorious couples since Sid and Nancy. It will be explosive."
Shooting on the $60 million film is expected to begin later this year.
