Amy MacDonald Knock Radiohead From Album Top Spot

Amy MacDonald has knocked Radiohead from the number one spot in this week’s UK album chart.

The singer-songwriter’s album ‘This Is The Life’ outsold ‘In Rainbows’ to claim the top spot, with Take That’s ‘Beautiful World’, Scouting For Girls’ eponymous debut and Mika’s ‘Life In Cartoon Motion’ making up the rest of the top five respectively.

Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ slipped to number eighth in its incredible 61st week on the chart, while Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant’s collaboration with Alison Krauss, ‘Raising Sand’, was at six.

Over in the singles chart, Britney Spears’ ‘Piece Of Me’ missed out on the number one behind Basshunter’s ‘Now You’re Gone.’

Lupe Fiasco was the only new entry in the entire top 20, coming in at seven with Superstar.
