Christina Aguilera Gives Birth

American singer Christina Aguilera is celebrating becoming a mother for the first time.

The Dirrrty star gave birth at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center yesterday afternoon, confirming the happy news to friends and family via text message.

Although the sex of her first child with husband Jordan Bratman has not been confirmed, it is thought to be a son.

Aguilera gave birth just minutes after Lionel Richie's daughter Nicole had also become a mother for the first time in a room close by.
