As anyone who went to the Field Day festival last summer will tell you, despite being a gloriously sunny day and boasting a stellar line-up, it was complete shambles.
One hour queues for the bar and (female) toilets, dismal sound levels and a lack of food and drink on the site were just some of the irks for disgruntled revellers.
If you thought it was well and truly dead and buried, then think again because it’s back for 2008. Fortunately though, it seems that organisers have well and truly learnt their harsh lesson.
As a reward for your 2007 woes, anyone who bought a ticket last year will be offered by email a cut price ticket of £20 for this summer’s one-day event.
Organisers have promised the following things too:
-There will be a significant increase in toilets and urinals across the site.
- There will be three times the amount of draft bars, a spirits/cocktail bar, three separate rapid can bars and various other bespoke bars serving cider and Pimms. There will also be free water provided with two tap points.
- The site has been re-designed using sound experts Vanguardia with new stage layouts to vastly improve our sound levels and to avoid sound bleeding as much as possible into other stages.
Sounds like they’ve got their act together, then. More details (including the day it's going to be held) soon.

- Let people bring in their own alcohol or give them wrist bands so they can leave the site?? Might be a good idea?! Three times the bars is still not enough, I queued for nearly two hours last year!!

- I won’t hold my breath!

- Agreed Mike B, three times the bars still wouldn’t cover it. It was a bloody shambels last year but the atmosphere was nice. good luck this time round Field Day. See you in August!

- Sound experts? It just needs to be turned up! They weren’t allowed last year, so how are they going to get round the problem?

- Why would you bother to wait for 2 hours for beer when the lineup was so good?! Surely it’s about the music not just getting drunk?
