Named after the short legged, muscular quadruped from the land down under that's not commonly viewed in public but which leaves ample evidence of it's passage, the band The Wombats have adopted this strange path through much of their time together. Last year they came out of nowhere to score significant publicity with their debut single and album which preceded a well received UK tour and now find themselves releasing their second single attempt 'Moving To New York'. One of those snappy anthems it features showering drum and cymbal action, a chorus to die for and a series of turbo charged guitar solos which make the track sound like a speeded up version of a Joy Division/Smiths collaboration which has been reworked by the Klaxons.
Released 14/01/08 on 14th Floor.
