Mick Quinn, bass player in Supergrass, has revealed that he broke his back last year when mistakenly stepped out a first-floor window mistaking it for the toilet.
The incident, which happened at a Villa in the South of France, caused the band to postpone what would have been a preview show for their forthcoming album, ‘Diamond Hoo Ha’, which is out in March.
Speaking about the accident for the first time, Quinn said that he knew he was in trouble when he “was in mid-air.” He sustained two broken vertebrae in the incident.
"I needed a pee in the middle of the night,” he told Teletext. "I wasn't drunk, I was just so sleepy I thought I was on the ground floor. What I thought was a glass door was a window."
Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes Danny Goffey have recently been playing under the Pseudonym Diamond Hoo Ha Men while Quinn recuperates.
