Apple has announced plans to cut the price of music downloads purchased through its UK iTunes store over the coming months.
It's understood that unspecified price adjustment will align the price of music downloads in the UK with the rest of Europe.
An investigation into Apple’s pricing was launched last year by EU regulators following complaints that the UK public were being charged more to download music.
It currently costs 79p to download a song through iTunes in the UK, compared to 99 euro cents, roughly 74p, in other European countries.
In a statement Apple said it “will reconsider its continuing relationship in the UK with any record label that does not lower its wholesale prices in the UK to the pan-European level within six months."
