Godspeed! You Black Emperor offshoot A Silver Mount Zion have sold one of their songs to be used in a commercial for series four of popular TV show Lost.
Seemingly turning their back on their anti-corporate ethos, the Montreal seven-piece have apparently given personal permission for a segment of ‘Tho You Are Gone I Still Often Walk W/You’ to be used in the ad.
The track is lifted from their 2001 album ‘Born Into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upward’, the follow up to my personal favourite album title of all time ‘He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts Of Light Sometimes Grace The Corner Of Our Rooms.’
Of course, the decision has not sat well with ardent fans of the collective who are currently venting their collective speed on Constellation Records’ forum.
Meanwhile, A Silver Mount Zion release their new album ‘13 Blues for Thirteen Moons’ on March 24.

- Sell out cunts. The ’suits’ have got to everyone now, even the fucking hippies!

- If this happened, everything is fucked now.

- Anyone fancy a Starbucks?!

- Who gives a fuck? Lost kicks ass

- First of all, yes this is potentially fucked. However, there is no forum on the Constellation website for fans to ”vent on.” That is incorrect information in this article. Second, I’ve seen no indication that the song was ”sold”, just that it was allowed to be used.
