Canadian Musician Bif Naked Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Canadian musician Big Naked says she is facing the “fight of her life” after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The 36-year-old singer, who is understood to be working on two new albums, broke the news during a radio interview with George Stroumboulopoulos on Sunday (January 6th).

"It is a very surreal situation for Ian and I at this time,” she said.

The singer discovered a lump during a self-examination and was sent by doctors for an immediate mammogram.

“It's been two weeks from being completely healthy to cancer patient with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy scheduled," she added.

Bif Naked has been described as a music icon in Canada and is famous for her often relentless touring schedule.

"I plan on taking it one day at a time and to tackle this with a positive attitude," she said, talking about the treatment.

"I have never been one to give up when an obstacle is placed in
front of me.  I am in the fight of my life, and I'm lucky to have the support of my husband Ian and many friends and family members.”
