James Brown's Final Album Delayed By Legal Disputes

James Brown’s final album is being delayed by the legal disputes surrounding his estate according to his long time advisor.

His attorney Buddy Dallas says Brown recorded an album in Los Angeles during the summer of 2006 before his death in December.

Billboard reports that Dallas says that there are also 50 to 60 previously unreleased James Brown tracks being held in vaults until the dispute is settled.

However, Brown’s son Daryl who was guitarist in his father’s backing band, the Soul Generals, says he has no knowledge of the supposed ‘last album’.

He says that Brown and the Soul Generals were recording an album in a studio in Georgia before his death but only two songs had been finished.

As previously reported on Gigwise five of Brown’s children are contesting the late soul legends will saying that he was coerced into leaving all his money to charitable trusts by his advisors including Dallas.

Dallas quit the estate trustee in November but is now trying to retract that resignation.
