Thom Yorke believes that ‘In Rainbows’ is Radiohead’s classic album – ahead of such musical heavyweights as ‘The Bends’, ‘Kid A’ and ‘OK Computer.’
The frontman believes that the Oxford outfit have made a succinct 45 minute record that has the characteristics of a traditional, timeless rock album.
Speaking to The Independent, he said: “Our aim was to describe in 45 minutes, as coherently and conclusively as possible, what moves us. In Rainbows is, at least in our opinion, our classic album – our Transformer, our Revolver, our Hunky Dory.”
As reported earlier today, Radiohead look certain to enter the charts at number one on Sunday with ‘In Rainbows’, on the week its physical format went on general sale through XL Recordings.
