The Kinks are reportedly contemplating a 2008 reunion to coincide with the release of their next greatest hits passage ‘Retrospective’.
According to Ray Davies he has discussed a possible reformation with bass player Pete Quaife who is keen to make a new album.
He told The Daily Mail: "I spoke to Quaife about a month ago and he dearly wants to make another record with me.
"I think Dave's getting better and Mick's still playing. It would be great to get back together just to see what musical ideas we had and what would happen."
Although rumours of the reformation have been rife it has looked unlikely due to bad health problems within the band.
Davies’ brother Dave suffered a stroke in 2004 and Quaife has had kidney problems.
