With ‘Me Llaman Calle’, which translated into English means ‘They Call Me Street’, Manu Chao has created something charming and uplifting with sultry Spanish rhythms which demand a listen from the feet. Unfortunately, after two minutes, ‘Me Llaman Calle’ becomes all too repetitive and fails to take advantage of its European heritage – with no isolated intricate solos or changes making headway through the track. A pleasant and warming song but it will not warm the hearts for too long during these cold winter months.
Released 31/12/07 on Because Music.
