REM have confirmed the first details of their fourteenth studio album which is set for release in April.
Entitled ‘Accelerate’ the record was produced by Jacknife Lee in Vancouver and Dublin where the band previewed the new material with Olympia Theatre dates.
Speaking about the album Michael Stipe told Q Magazine: "I think the songs on 'Around The Sun' are great, but in the process of recording we lost our focus as a band. Now, that focus is back. And it's razor sharp."
Tracks confiemd for the record include ‘Mr Ricahrds’, ‘I’m Gonna DJ’, ‘Until The Day Is Done’, ‘Staring Down The Barrel Of Middle Distance’, ‘Living Well Is The Best Revenge’.
The album is the band’s first since 2004’s ‘Around The Sun’.
