A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of former Radio 1 DJ Kevin Greening at the weekend.
The former breakfast presenter was found dead in his South London home on Saturday (December 29) at the age of 44. A post-mortem has failed to find the root cause of his death and further tests are set to be carried out on his body.
Now, Scotland Yard has confirmed that they have held a man who was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs. After undergoing questioning, he has been bailed until March.
Although the police force’s specialist crime directorate is involved in the case – a section who are employed for serious cases – the unexplained death is currently not being treated murder.
Speaking of Kevin Greening, Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt paid tribute, telling the BBC: "In moments of crisis, Kevin would always be there, dependable and mature, anchoring the schedule.
"Kevin worked hard at his craft, creating some great radio and enjoyed many successful years at Radio 1. I respected him enormously."
Greening’s body was discovered in his Wandsworth home shortly before 9pm on Saturday. More recently Greening had worked at Smooth FM and BBC7.
