Dave Grohl is reportedly waiting on a very important phone call, an invitation to go drum on the rumoured Led Zeppelin reunion tour.
Apparently the Foo Fighters man is desperate to take control of the skins for anymore shows the band might play despite the fact that he praised Jason Bonham’s performance at the O2 Arena show.
According to one of those people that seem to know everything – the insider – Grohl was also in the running to take Bonham’s role at the London gig.
The source told the Daily Star: Dave flew in especially for the shows and played air guitar and air drums throughout the gig.
“He was in the running to take over from John Bonham a few years ago and he’s still gagging to get on stage with the Zep.
“While he loves playing with Foo Fighters, Dave would drop anything to be part of Zep’s shows.”

- Dave Grohl is an excellent drummer. But Jason Bonham is John’s son. As far as I can tell, he did a fantastic job at the O2 concert, so why look any further? I hasten to add at this point that I’m a Led Zeppelin nut (not just a fan, but a total fucking lunatic for them). His knowledge of his father’s work must be just that bit more personal than anyone else on the planet. Also, I know it’s not really relevant, but Led Zeppelin is an English band. No offence Dave.

- It’s right that Jason get’s the gig, after his memorable performance at 02. Also his Presence (pun) is exactly what his father would want to see.

- You are right but Led Zeppelin want something better than a regular drummer from the Foreigner...No offence Jason.

- Why didn’t Jason do those drum hits at the beginning of ”Nobody’s Fault but Mine” during the O2 show? Although I do believe that Dave is a (slightly) better drummer than Jason, it seems to make more sense to have John’s son behind the kit. What the f&%k does being British have to do with it you jackass? Besides, Dave looks like a horse!!!
