While most people were tucking into turkey sandwiches last week it seems some music lovers were reminiscing about Christmas past.
This week’s singles chart saw a return to the Top 40 for a number of classic festive songs including The Pogues’ ‘Fairytale Of New York’ which managed to hit Number 9.
Elsewhere Wham!’s syrupy 80’s hit ‘Last Christmas’ also managed to creep into the countdown at Number 40.
The top spot however was taken by X Factor winner Leon Jackson for the second week in a row with his song ‘When You Believe’.
Fellow X Factor star Leona Lewis held on to the Number 1 spot in the album charts with ‘Spirit’ while her single ‘Bleeding Love’ climbed to Number 2.
Christmas might bring you presents but obviously the British public wasn’t given any taste this year!
