The Who’s Roger Daltrey has likened the band’s performance at the this year’s Glastonbury Festival to the Battle of Passchendaele during World War 1.
The band closed this year’s festival, which was plagued by horrendous weather conditions during the summer.
“We thought ‘Who the ****’s going to be here after three days of horrendous weather?’ It was like Passchendaele.
“The conditions were horrendous and you think no one is going to stay to the end. It was like the 70s when the crowds got bigger,” he told The Sun.
When asked if he felt he would be in the band forever, Daltrey replied: “Yes. I’ve only ever wanted to be the singer in The Who.”
