Crosby, Stills & Nash Star Diagnosed With Cancer

Luckily Stephen Stills has found it early...

December 19, 2007 by Scott Colothan

Stephen Stills, one third of the legendary folk-rock outfit Crosby, Stills & Nash, has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer.

His bandmate Graham Nash made the announcement during an interview with US chat show host Larry King.

Nash said that the cancer had been found early and that Stills will undergo treatment for it in January. It is hoped that the early diagnosis will save the musician’s life.

The news comes just days after fellow folk musician Dan Fogelberg lost his life to the exact same disease after a three year battle.

Nash told CNN's Larry King Live show: "Unlike Danny [Fogelberg], who left it too long to be seriously checked, Stephen found his at an early stage."

Stills’ bandmate David Crosby took ill earlier this year with an undisclosed problem, forcing the band to postpone their Australian tour.

    • As a survivor of prostate cancer I agree fully that early detection is critical. http://www.chuckgallagher.com However, while Fogelberg had said that men over 50 should be checked - I will respectfully disagree. Men over 40 should be checked! I was diagnosed with prostate cancer by accident at age 47. I had no symptoms - none what so ever. The PSA test was something that my doctor did when I had routine blood work done. Early detection is critical to life!
