Television watchdog Ofcom has now received “in the region of 1100 complaints” from viewers saying that they couldn’t register a vote for X-Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts.
Roberts, who was favourite to win Saturday’s live final, eventually lost to teenager Leon Jackson.
A spokeswoman for Ofcom told Gigwise that they were investigating all the complaints and that “any decision will be announced in due course.”
X-Factor bosses said that the reason people experienced problems getting through was down to the huge volume of callers.
Callers began to express their frustrations shortly after Saturday’s final, with some complaining that they hadn’t been able to cast their vote despite multiple attempts.

how do they know 1100 is the right amount?
- Because they made it up...such a joke. You Brits get pissed off so easy...get over yourselves! So the phone lines were busy, ”lets take it out on Simon Cowell because he’s successful and I’m not” The other guy got basically the same thing-a record deal from Syco. GET OVER IT!!!!

- Virgin Media Customer
got in at 9-30pm redialled constantly until the lines closed - failed to get through - must have dialled 50-100 times in that period

- because that is how many people phoned in....oh, i see! Very funny! :-)

- Who gives a shit?! They’re both awful!
