American singer Dan Fogelberg has died after a long battle with prostrate cancer at the age of 56.
The musician, famous for tracks like ‘Same Old Lang Syne’, ‘Leader of the Band’ and ‘The Power of Gold’, was diagnosed with the disease three years ago and finally succumbed to it at his Maine home yesterday (December 16).
A statement on his website said that he died with his wife Jean at his side. It reads: "His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration."
Since being diagnosed with cancer, he campaigned to raise cancer awareness and urged people to be regularly screened for the disease.
