Chris De Burgh to Play Groundbreaking Iran Gig

Chris De Burgh has always been a groundbreaking artist - and now he's set to be the first Western musician to play a gig in Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

According to Iranian pop group Arian, who De Burgh recently recorded with, the Irish crooner has been given the all clear to perform in the controversial country next year.

The group's manager Mohsen Rajabpour that officials had "announced that there is no problem with holding a joint performance".

They added, "We are trying to organise the concerts, scheduled for June and July."

The mono-browed singer - who counts the above Akira The Don as one of his biggest fans - is expected to play with Arian at a 12,000-seat stadium in Tehran.
