Tina Turner has refused to pass comment on the death of her ex husband and bandmate Ike Turner.

The soul legend passed away at his Californian home on Wednesday (December 12) at the age of 76.

Despite his undoubted musical influence and pedigree, Ike had a turbulent relationship with Tina – real name Anne Mae Bullock - and has admitted to “punching” and “slapping” her in the past.

Unsurprisingly, the pair have not made any contact with each other for over three decades. Her spokesperson said of the death: "Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today. She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made."

    • To be fair, she should at least acknowledge his part in her success, since no ****er would know who she was, nor would she even have her (current)name, were it not for Ike.

    • ZOMBIE BALLAD, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Why should she acknowledge him when he has put her through so much abuse and terror?

    • Because of Tina Turner and her movie, ”What’s Love Got To Do With It”, I became a Buddhist. Forgive, forget or speak, that is Tina’s choice. None of us should be dependent upon if she personally chooses to speak or not. That action of behalf of Tina is really none of our business. I personally, would say something short and brief like: ”I thank Ike for the introduction he gave me to the music world. I extend my thoughts and prayers to his family at this time.
