Leona Lewis looks set to be dethroned from the number one spot in the singles chart this weekend by Katie Melua.
The X Factors winner’s song ‘Bleeding Love’ has been at number one for an impressive seven weeks, but, if midweek sales figures are anything to go by, Katie Melua’s ‘duet’ with the late Eva Cassidy ‘What A Wonderful World’ will outsell it.
Amazingly the Melua song is only available to buy at Tescos, proving the sheer muscle of the supermarket giant. Profits from the track will go to the Red Cross.
'What A Wonderful World', of course, was orignally recorded by the great Louis Arnstrong.
Despite the likelihood of being knocked off the singles top spot, Leona Lewis album ‘Spirit’ is set to remain firm at number one in the album chart.
