Gwen Stefani has donated $166,000 from the proceeds earned at concert to help students who have been hit by the recent wildfires in San Diego.
Money raised from the October 30 concert in the city will go towards the ‘After The Fires Scholarship’, which helps San Diego students whose homes were destroyed or education was directly affected by the ravaging blazes.
Around 1,700 homes were destroyed in the fires, while at least ten people are known to have lost their lives.
Stefani said of the cause: “When I heard about the devastation of the fire, at first I thought I should cancel my show out of respect. But then it occurred to me that there may be a more useful solution.”
People affected can apply for a scholarship up until January 28.
