Goldfrapp are set for a change of direction on their new album which is out in the New Year.
The record entitled ‘Seventh Tree’ is out on February 25 via Mute and Alison Goldfrapp has revealed that the duo have been experimenting with several news instruments on the material.
She told Billboard: "We did talk quite a lot about what kind of instruments would get that kind of warmth and that kind of sound we wanted.
"We'd never used acoustic guitars before. We wanted the sound to be delicate, but not weak."
Will Gregory added that the band’s planned gigs in 2008 will follow a similar direction, saying: "We're going to try and do it unplugged and be more acoustic about it, and see how that feels.
"We did an acoustic radio session and we really enjoyed that. I think that involves more people, having little chamber group sounds."
The track listing is:
Clowns
Little Bird
Happiness
Road To Somewhere
Eat Yourself
Some People
AandE
Cologne Cerrone Houdini
Caravan Girl
Monster Love
