Led Zeppelin played their first live concert in almost two decades tonight (December 10th) as surviving members reunited on-stage in London.
Performing in front of a sell out crowd, which included fans and specially invited guests, frontman Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bass player John Paul Jones defied sceptics to play an energetic, career spanning set.

The three performers were joined at the O2 Arena by Jason Bonham, son of original drummer John Bonham, on drums.
Opening with ‘Good Times Bad Times,’ the band’s set included such classics as ‘The Lemon Song’ and ‘Stairway To Heaven,’ the latter of which drove the crowds wild.
Performing on a stage set which featured a giant video screen, all members let the music do the talking – with Plant’s black shirt and jeans a long way from his more familiar cat suits of the 1970s.
At various stages of the performance Plant used breaks in proceedings to introduce all members individually, including Bonham, who he thanked for taking over the role of his father.
The concert was held in honour of Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records, who died in December last year.
Plant used a deafening version of ‘Whole Lotta Love’ to praise Ertegun’s influence on the band before the concert concluded with the fittingly entitled ‘Rock’N’Roll.’
Earlier in the evening a number of Atlantic Records artists, including Paolo Nutini and Bill Wyman – both signed by Ertegun – warmed up for the main event.
Over 1 million people registered for just 9,000 pairs of tickets for the event, with a number of tickets exchanging hands on the black market, despite tight regulations to cut down on touts.
