Phil Spector Finally Gets New Lawyer

Who doesn't want retrial for nine months...

Phil Spector has finally found a new lawyer to defend his retrial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, but he doesn't want the case to go to court before September 2008.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler heard yesterday Doron Weinberg advise he required five months to go over the material from the legendary producer's original trial, which ended in a mistrial in September.

Weinberg also told the court hearing that the only member of the original defence team, Christopher Ploud, still working for Spector was unavailable until August of next year.

Spector enjoyed a tempestuous relationship with his previous counsel, getting through three legal teams during his five month trial for the alleged murder in 2003.
