Radiohead and the Arctic Monkeys will go head-to-head in the Pop section category at next year’s South Bank Awards.
The winner of the award, which also features folk singer Linda Thompson, will be unveiled at a ceremony in London on January 29th.
Anton Corbijn’s Ian Curtis biopic ‘Control’ has also picked up a nomination in the film category.
The critically acclaimed film about the Joy Division front man has been nominated alongside ‘Atonement’ and ‘This Is England.’
Melvyn Bragg, creator and presenter of The South Bank Show Awards, said that the nominees for the 12th edition of the ceremony show that "the arts in this country are still at full throttle."
