Robbie Williams is expected to appear in court later today (December 5th) to offer former Take That manager Nigel Martin-Smith an official apology.
The pop star will also pay damages and legal costs of more than £100,000 after he criticised Martin-Smith in his song, ‘The 90s.’
The song in question originally appeared on Williams’ 2006 album, ‘Rudebox,’ before he was forced to re-record it with different lyrics.
Martin-Smith launched the defamation case against Williams after the lyrics in the initial version of the song claimed that he had denied Take That the correct tour payments during the 1990s.
In 1995 Martin-Smith sued Williams for breaching his contract with Take That after he unexpectedly quit the group.
