Just days after the legendary Kim Deal confirmed that The Breeders will be releasing a new album next spring, the band’s label 4AD have unveiled the full title, release date and track-listing.
The 13 track ‘Mountain Battles’ will be with us on April 7, 2008. Steve Albini, Erika Larsson, Manny Nieto and Ben Mumphrey are amongst those who worked on the record in various locations including Chicago and Ohio.
4AD themselves have described the follow-up to 2002’s ‘Title TK’ as: “an album which captures all the bittersweet electricity of classic Breeders records like Pod and Last Splash, and which breaks new ground at the same time; classic sounding, yet as relevant and exciting as ever.”
The band will have a busy touring schedule next year too taking in extensive dates in North America and Europe as well as already confirmed performances at South by Southwest and at the Canadian Music Week.
The full track-listing for ‘Mountain Battles’ is as follows:
1. Overglazed
2. Bang On
3. Night Of Joy
4. We're Gonna Rise
5. German Studies
6. Spark
7. Istanbul
