Young*Husband - 'Could They Be Jealous'

Young*Husband is trying to be different and doesn’t do it too well. ‘Could They Be Jealous’ is a light and dreamy pop tune with spoken vocals that jog along with the melody rather than blend with it to sound like they’re really part of the song. Lyrically Young*Husband tries to channel the Syd Barret style of clever childlike lyrics but ends up with a love sick teenage poet instead. The music itself doesn’t grab you either and instead of holding its own within the song - which it needs to do if it is to have any more of an impact than just background noise. This is a single you could pass on as it’s nothing special and doesn’t display any more than an average talent.
