US rapper Akon has pleased not guilty to criminal charges relating to an incident where he threw a fan into the audience at a show earlier this year.
Akon appeared briefly at the hearing yesterday (December 3rd) in Fishkill, America, where he was charged with misdemeanour of endangering the welfare of a minor and second degree harassment.
A fan alleges that she suffered concussion after a boy that the rapper threw off stage hit her at an outdoor event on June 3rd.
The rapper was told yesterday that his lawyer can stand in for him at future hearings. The case has been adjourned until January, reports AP.
Akon’s actions were caught on video and published on the video sharing website YouTube.
In a statement written by the rapper’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, it’s said that Akon “deeply regrets” the incident.
