Good Shoes And Hot Club Showcase New Songs

Good Shoes and Hot Club De Paris continued Liverpool Music Week by showcasing new material during their sets last night.

Hot Club started off their set at the city's Carling Academy venue - which saw New Young Pony Club launch LMW on Thursday - with a string of song's from their upcoming album.

The three-piece - who have just finished recording their second long-player after a six-week session in Chicago - also unveiled their forthcoming Christmas single, which does indeed include a Yuletide chorus.

Enthusiastically compèred by XFM favourite Jon Kennedy, headliners Good Shoes also treated a vigorous crowd to three new songs, as well as a spirtied run through of their debut album 'Think Before You Speak' (this humble correspondent's pick of 2007).

A tip to over-eager audience members in the next week's worth of LMW gigs - don't crowd surf if you want to see the rest of the set, because you won't be coming back once you've gone over the rail!
