The person behind the Radiohead hoax site has come clean… and it’s Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. Well, kind of.
Over the summer the domain radioheadlp7.com had a mysterious countdown which ended at 8am on September 29. Ultimately absolutely nothing at all happened on that day and it was transparent that it was bogus. If only they had timed it for October 10!
Now, in a fresh prank, the people/person behind the site has posted a piece of text under the alias of none other than Sir Liam Gallagher.
Under the title ‘Maybe This Will Clear Things Up’, it reads:
Well, it's bloody time we let the cat out of the bag. You've all acted like right wankers and entertained us long enough. The rumors you have heard are true ... I am responsible for this site.
It was a laugh. We're having a time recording the new album.
I'm writing deep songs that mean something but are dead simple. Nothing mystic. I want anybody to be able to understand them, even me.
You're all going to drive yourselves mad.
We have our 'discbox' and we're not going to share.
Your favourite,
Liam Gallagher
We thought Liam couldn’t even email, let alone start up a website?
