From the beginning, it’s the bassline that makes The Rascals’, ‘Out Of Dreams,’ such a captivating listen. Lyrically describing an interesting situation to find yourself in, one where Miles Kane is asking you, “Are you out of, out of dreams?” with a worrying consciousness, it’s a bass driven song written by an extremely wise 21-year old. Packed with subtle yet wholesome slabs of musical brilliance, of which another highlight is the sudden acceleration of speed which occurs towards the songs conclusion, ‘Out Of Dreams,’ should finally catapult The Rascals out of Alex Turner’s spotlight and into their own. 2008 could be theirs for the taking.
Released 10/12/07 on Deltasonic.
