Queen and Paul Rodgers are releasing a download for free this coming Saturday (December 1) to raise the awareness of World Aids Day.
Originally penned by Roger Taylor back in 2003, the song – titled ‘Say It’s Not True’ – deals directly with HIV AIDs and the fact that it can effect any one of us. Former band frontman Freddie Mercury, of course, died from the disease in 1991.
Spurred on by their commitments as Ambassadors to Nelson Mandela’s 46664 HIV AIDS global campaign and also their fruitful recent studio sessions, the trio have decided to rush record the song.
Taylor said of the decision: By making the song available for free we hope to help Nelson Mandela with his campaign to get across the message that no-one is safe from infection.
”We have to be aware, we have to protect ourselves and those we love. The song follows the line of Mr. Mandela’s personal message: it’s in our own hands to bring a stop to this.”
A video of the track will be premiered at Saturday’s 46664 Johannesburg World AIDS Day concert.
