A Christmas card designed by John Lennon is to be re-printed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Oxfam’s seasonal cards.
The former Beatle's card, entitled ‘The Fat Budgie,’ was originally issued in 1965 but will now be available again as a limited edition.
Lennon’s Widow Yoko Ono has given permission for the cards to be re-printed and has ordered 200 to send to family and friends.
“John supported Oxfam so it is wonderful that his illustration
can continue to help Oxfam in its important work,” she explained.
“He would have been happy that Oxfam wanted to re-print his design to mark such an important occasion and I hope people will enjoy buying, sending and receiving his cards this Christmas.”
The card will be available through Oxfam stores in the build-up to the Christmas period.
